Integrated farming system

Balajee Sewa Sansthan with the support of NABARD has organized DPR Project on “Integrated Farming System for Livelihood Enhancement and Double the Income of Small & Marginal farmers” in Bareilly and Dehradun District.

Integrated farming system is a sustainable agricultural system that integrates livestock, crop production, fish, poultry, tree crops, plantation crops and other systems that benefit each other. It is based on the concept that ‘there is no waste’ and ‘waste is only a misplaced resource’ which means waste from one component becomes an input for another part of the system. IFS approach is considered to be the most powerful tool for enhancing profitability of farming systems especially for small and marginal farmers to make them bountiful.

We have provided trainings to farmers and introduced modern techniques to help them achieve better or double income from existing activities, better production, capacity building and also encourage them to undertake activities from where they can avail even better returns using local resources and material. In this project we covered 4 villages namely Titauli, Kherseni, Sorha and Khurrampur of Bareilly district.

Objectives/Goals of the IFS Project:

  • To develop a model/demonstration unit of Integrated farming system 60 farmers and to motivate other farmers to adopt the techniques and get benefitted.
  • To increase the production of crop from the unit area.
  • To increase the income of farmer and rural communities.
  • Introducing integrated farming system as an input to improve the livelihood of rural communities and small & marginal farmers.
  • Capacity building & training of farmers.
